John has been battling cancer and a variety of other ailments that have made life very difficult, but haven't dimmed his optimism or love for life. I realized quickly that there was no way to distill it to a "Best of" or a complete overview, so this is a personal sampling of some of the great music that I love that came from here or was recorded here. There's so much more to discover and enjoy, but I hope you get a sense of the talent and passion that comes from this place by listening to this show!

Independent Canadian record label Six Shooter Records celebrated its 25th anniversary this week. I'm pretty sure that no other source has provided as much great material for this show over the 22+ years that it's been on the air. The label has helped to release and promote some amazing music that wouldn't have been given a chance elsewhere and has given opportunities to a lot of talented artists. Today's show is a highlight reel picking out some of my many favourites that have been released by and on the label over the years.
