We held back a bit on the new music last week for our Minneapolis themed show, so we had a bit of a backlog to clear out today and it filled up pretty much the entire show outside of a couple of timely tunes and some music as heard on TV.

A smaller crop of new releases this week leads things off, but we do have the great privilege of premiering some amazing new music from Winnipeg's own Sean Burns, created in isolation and coming out on the next BandCamp day. Most of today's show is a love letter to a city that I love and visit often, Minneapolis, MN. The city has been at the forefront of racial tensions in the USA this week. Our hope is that things can move forward and get better without further violence. Sending some peace, love, and rock 'n' roll to all!

The wave of new music overwhelmed us again, and some of it was pretty rockin' for your usual Tell the Band to Go Home episode, so the second hour reclaimed the moniker of Steel Belted Radio. We also paid tribute to another great artist who left us this weekend and retired another overused song title.
We here are the show wish to thank and send our love and admiration to all of the mothers out there who make all things possible. We appreciate and respect you all not just on Mother's Day, but it is a good reminder to let you know how important you are!

I think I spoke too soon last week when I said that the new releases were slowing because we had so many this week that would couldn't possibly fit them all in, but we heard some of the highlights for sure, including some of the many isolation coming out of quarantine. We also got some great requests this week, had a few laughs, rediscovered a great Winnipeg band from days gone by, and more!

The new release tap is definitely being turned off a bit, so the flow of new music has dramatically slowed, but we've still got some new gems for you today, as well as another roundup of the live streams I'm most looking forward to this week. Recently I got sucked into one of those "10 albums" challenges on social media, but this time it was a list of 10 significant live albums. While I kind of hate live albums in general, there are some artists who have managed to do it right and have come up with live albums that are essential pieces of their catalogues. We heard a few of those today, and much more!

We seem to have hit a bit of a slow-down in the new releases, although we've got plenty for you again today. The live streams are still happening all over the place, though, so we've got the weekly rundown as well as tributes to Bill Withers and John Prine, and more!

Fortunately, the new music releases are continuing full steam ahead for now, so we've got plenty of great material to keep us entertained, and we heard a big pile of it today. The live music calendar has shifted online, and my schedule has never been busier, so we chatted about the highlights of the week to come.
Remember to stay home and wash those hands regularly. Reach out to me or someone else if you're struggling with anything at all or there's something you need. We're all in this together and we can't do it alone!
