Episode #892
This week on the show we acknowledge the devastating discovery in Kamloops, spin some new music, including an incredible new song from Suzie Ungeleider that's so good, I had to play it twice. I spoke with Suzie this past week for my other show, Fly with your Shadow, but had a bit leftover for this show. This week's lone request reminded me of a couple of other songs, and we commemorated a few of the significant birthdays of last week and the week to come! A busy show!

Episode #890
This past week Fly with your Shadow returned after an unplanned absence with a chat with our good friend Joe Nolan, and we had so much to chat about that it wouldn't fit on that show, so I've got some bonus content on this show today as Joe tells us about his upcoming album and why he's releasing it in a somewhat unconventional (but totally sensible) way. We've also got more great music, including another roundup of cover versions and some oddball releases that I love but not everyone will, and we end off with a set of songs about strength, faith, and hope, because a lot of us could use some of that right now!

Episode #889
With the NHL playoffs starting this week and our Winnipeg Jets facing tough odds, even the power of music might not be enough for us this year, but we're still going to try by playing an hour of hockey-themed songs. Following that, our usual roundup of great new music, including a whole bunch of new cover versions, which seems to be a theme this year.

Episode #888
We've got another heaping helping of great new music this week, including more fun and unusual cover versions and a bunch of stuff from what is possibly the last Bandcamp fee-free Friday. In hour two, we pay tribute to all of the great mothers and maternal figures out there on Mother's Day, without whom, we'd all be lost. A bunch of mother and mama songs and our endless love and gratitude to you all!

Episode #886
I got my first COVID vaccine this week, and although I feel great about being a little safer for myself and those around me, the side effects knocked me out for a while, so the first hour of the show is brought to you by modern medicine, sicknesses, and feeling better. In hour two another load of great new music and a celebration of a great album released 20 years ago this weekend.
I had originally promised to air part of my interview with Stephanie Lambring on this episode but I, uh, forgot. I blame the side effects. I'll have to find a way to remember to do it next week. Until then, check out the latest episode of Fly with your Shadow for the rest of that conversation. It's an especially interesting and important one.

Episode #884
Today we start off with a tribute to friends old and new who have passed away over the past week in music history. I'm very late to the party in discovering Winnipeg's own Kipp Kocay, and I'm sad that I didn't seek him out before his untimely passing this week. We also fondly remember the music of John Bottomley, Jesse Winchester, and Merle Haggard. I ran out of time so didn't get to John Prine, but certainly love and miss him as well. Hour 2 is all new music culled from new releases over the past couple of weeks, and there are some gems!

Episode #883
This show was recorded on 4/3/21, and hopefully it's not the Final Countdown, but it did inspire two hours of countdowns, count-ins, and a whole lot of numbers!
This show is a little different than your usual Sunday afternoon singer/songwriter fare, with a bit wider scope and some artists and songs we don't normally play on the show. It's fun to loosen things up and have a little fun once in a while.
