There are some exciting events coming up over the next week, and the two biggest are happening at The West End Cultural Centre, and Scott Nolan has a hand in both of them! Next Sunday our pal Corin Raymond heads back to town and he's assembled an amazing band to help bring his latest, Winnipeg made album to life. Also, Scott Nolan and Glenn Buhr are gearing up for a big show called Manitoba Skylines and they dropped by to talk all about their collaboration and the very unique evening they've got planned for lucky attendees on Thursday. Today, a sad farewell to one of the biggest influences on my musical development and one of the greatest live performers I've seen, the great John Mann of Spirit of the West. He lost his battle with Alzheimer's this week, but his spirit will live on through the great music that he made. We heard a lot of it on this episode, but there's so much more we couldn't get to. We also heard some great requests, talked about some exciting upcoming shows and spun some great new tunes.

It's Pledge-O-Rama time once again! During Pledge-O-Rama, most hosts pull together some great incentives and some special episodes in an effort to raise donations for the station that we love. This year we need to replace our aging broadcast antenna, and it's a big job for a station that runs on a pretty tight budget, so we need a little help from our listeners!
Over the past 8 years, our good friend Gail Comfort has pulled together some of the best prizes and has worked hard to earn money for the station. This year she couldn't be with us and she wasn't very happy about it, so we put together a special Best Of show to boost her spirits and encourage people to remember her fine show when making their donations. In addition to some special statistics about which songs and artists she's played the most over her almost 9 years on the air, we talked to one of Gail's very favourite artists of all time, Lynn Miles!
