An exciting episode indeed, as we welcomed back to the studio one of my very favourite guests and songwriters of them all, Stephen Fearing, who dropped in to chat and sing a few songs. What a treat! We also had another exciting show to preview and some great new music.
A long-awited visit by Quinton Blair, who stops by to chat and sing some great songs before tonight's Honky Tonk Blues show at The West End Cultural Centre, as well as a bunch of requests & dedications and a pile of great new music!
It's time once again for UMFM Pledge-O-Rama, where we ask our wonderful listeners to show some support and love for the station to keep us going and growing.
Along to show their support today, we have a chat with Christina Martin, as well as in-studio live performances by Jay Aymar and JP Hoe!
UMFM’s annual Pledge-O-Rama is here! This is the time of year when we appeal to you, the listener, to help us keep alive and get better at what we do. We need your help to pay the bills and help us with special projects, like this year’s goal of enough money to buy a new transmitter for the station! But it’s not just all about the money, we’ve got prizes and incentives to give away, requests/dedications for our supporters, and a very special live guest, Jaxon Haldane, who dropped by to chat and play some songs!
Today, a special blast from the past episode as I’m joined by the person who gave me my start on UMFM and my time slot, Lisa-Marie Serafin. She hosted Songwriters’ Circle on UMFM bi-weekly, and I was her borad operator/co-host. When she moved off to Quebec, I eventually inherited the slot and have been firmly entrenched ever since. Before hosting the show, Lisa-Marie was primarily a fine singer/songwriter, and she’s slowly making a return to performing. It was a pleasure to have her back on air and in the booth after 12 years!
Featuring an interview with and live performances by Matt Epp, who is accompanied by his infant daughter Luma!
A look ahead to Whitehorse, "Lighthorse," and the Perpetrators leads into some dirty blues and a look ahead to some other exciting upcoming shows. And speaking of Whitehorse, the opening act for tomorrow's concert is Noah Gundersen, and he dropped by UMFM to record some live songs, which we get to debut tonight!
