An exciting episode indeed, as we welcomed back to the studio one of my very favourite guests and songwriters of them all, Stephen Fearing, who dropped in to chat and sing a few songs. What a treat! We also had another exciting show to preview and some great new music.
A long-awited visit by Quinton Blair, who stops by to chat and sing some great songs before tonight's Honky Tonk Blues show at The West End Cultural Centre, as well as a bunch of requests & dedications and a pile of great new music!
Last week's chat with Stephen Stanley got us thinking about his producer, bandmate, label head, and friend Chris Brown. He just happens to have a swell new album of his own, so we invited him to chat on today's show. We also caught up with Keri Latimer about the vicious rumours about our house band's demise and their upcoming show alongside those D. Rangers, and we still had time for some new music, requests, and dedications.
On this episode we feature the music of and a conversation with our old friend Stephen Stanley, preview some exciting upcoming shows, and spin some new Black Friday vinyl!
Today we've got some more great shows to preview, including the return of David Myles, who joined us via telephone. We also got some rockin' requests which sent things off in some interesting directions.
Well, Pledge-O-Rama is over for another year, and our listeners came through and helped the station comfortably surpass our goal, so we’re in good shape for the next year to come. Tell the Band to Go Home is still a little short of our goal, however, so feel free to get in a late pledge if you’re so inclined!
Today on the show, we’ve got some concerts to preview, including the return of our pal Matt Patershuk who joined us for a chat about his new album and the upcoming show. We’ve also got to do our Canadian duty by paying tribute to one of our country’s most universally beloved icons, Gord Downie.
Our pal Gail Comfort was, unfortunately, unable to make it in for Pledge-O-Rama this year, so we called in some backup in the form of a chat with one of Gail's favourites, Oh Susanna, in an effort to raise a little bit of money for the station that we love.
