We pride ourselves on the diversity of the program, and I think our record speaks for itself, but every once in a while, it's nice to really get to know an artist and explore a rich back catalogue of material. Today, we have 2 such features, as we celebrate the long-awaited return (like 12 years or so...) of Canadian folk/roots legend Ken Whiteley, and we celebrate our pal Jon Dee Graham's birthday!
Today some great new music from some of our favourites and some exciting house concert news. We also got some great requests & suggestions today that led to some great classics we haven’t heard in a while!
It's Valentine's Day and love is in the air. We do like to do things a little differently around here though, so we explored some other non-traditional ways of expressing your affections. We also piled up a pretty good stack of new releases and relived some of the magic of Del Barber's Festival du Voyageur set. Once again we paid a brief tribute to the late, great Willie P Bennett on the eve of Blue Valentine's Day.
It might still be miserable outside, but it must be spring somewhere because the new music releases are flowing again! We’ve got a whole lot of great new music tonight and we take a look at the lineup for this year’s Festival du Voyageur.
Today we've got some great new music, some old school local music, and another pile of dusty vinyl from the archives!
Tonight we talk about The Day the Music Died (which is also the day that Waylon Jennings LIVED,) we set Stu straight (again,) and play a whole pile of classics that we haven’t heard in a while!
