The most anticipated news of the year has arrived: the lineup for the Winnipeg Folk Festival, and there were some pleasant surprises, so we played some songs from some of the notable names on the list. Then, some hotly anticipated upcoming shows.
Also, a special celebration of the life & music of one of the greatest singer/songwriters of them all on the eve of what would have been his birthday. The Man in Black, Johnny Cash would have been 75 on February 26, and as the host of a singer/songwriter show, it's in my contract to honour Johnny whenever possible.
Lastly, a brief tip o' the hat to our old pal Mike Plume who dropped me a line this week and got me thinking about how darn great he really is.
Another in our infrequent series of Tell the Band to Go Home invitational events, as we were joined by the owners of the new Candor Books & Music store, Amanda & Jules. They brought plenty of music for our listeners to hear.
A jam packed show, full of great new music and looking ahead at some more amazing upcoming shows.
Our great friends in the band Nathan fall into both categories, as we just received their upcoming album and they're having a CD release show on Feb. 23. Keri, Devin, and even baby Hazel dropped by the studio today to chat.
Featuring a rare Latimerless Nathan interview as Shelly & Damon drop by to dish the dirt on Keri & Devin and share some of their new album.
