Episode #195
A mixed bag today for sure:
First up, a trip inside my musical time machine. I’m always amazed at how listening to a song can so vividly take me back to a place & time, and I relived a few good (and some not so good) memories with a few musical trips back in time.
Next up, a tribute to the great Joni Mitchell, who was being honoured in Toronto this weekend.
Then, some new and notable stuff from the mailbag and the shopping bag.

Tonight, a very special treat as we were joined in the studio by one of Canada's finest singer/songwriters, the great Stephen Fearing. As if that weren't enough, we talked to the young and amazingly talented Serena Ryder on the phone. What a night.

Although this is my least favourite time of the year, local concert promoters are doing their best to make it bearable by bringing to town some pretty amazing shows in the next few weeks. This week's show was pretty much exclusively in honour of the amazing upcoming shows you won't want to miss.

Episode #193
First up, some notable new music.
The results are in! Our annual list of what was hot on the show is finished for 2006. A look back at the most played songs, artists, and albums of 2006, and a few notables that were left off the list. I’m always pleased at what a diverse list of artists and songs we play on the show, and 2006 was no exception.

Enough of the Best of shows, enough of the fancy themes and wacky ideas, today, it is time to rock. Well, TTBTGH style. Just a few of the old favourites we haven't heard for a while, and some new stuff. 2 hours of great stuff only loosely connected by my musical tastes, and it worked out anyway!

2006 was a pretty interesting year in music, and so we took some time to look back at the year that was: some of the best, some of the worst, some of the weirdest, and more.
With almost 6 hours to fill, there was plenty of time for other stuff. After struggling to make it in to the station today through the massive snowstorm, things got off to a bit of a rough start thanks to weather related problems, and computer/ipod difficulties, but once we got going with some sympathetic snow songs, all was well.
Of course, we also paid tribute to two of the greatest songwriters of all time, Townes Van Zandt and Hank Williams, in recognition of the January 1 anniversaries of both of their deaths.
