This week on the show we acknowledge the devastating discovery in Kamloops, spin some new music, including an incredible new song from Suzie Ungeleider that's so good, I had to play it twice. I spoke with Suzie this past week for my other show, Fly with your Shadow, but had a bit leftover for this show. This week's lone request reminded me of a couple of other songs, and we commemorated a few of the significant birthdays of last week and the week to come! A busy show!
With the NHL playoffs starting this week and our Winnipeg Jets facing tough odds, even the power of music might not be enough for us this year, but we're still going to try by playing an hour of hockey-themed songs. Following that, our usual roundup of great new music, including a whole bunch of new cover versions, which seems to be a theme this year.

This show was recorded on 4/3/21, and hopefully it's not the Final Countdown, but it did inspire two hours of countdowns, count-ins, and a whole lot of numbers!
This show is a little different than your usual Sunday afternoon singer/songwriter fare, with a bit wider scope and some artists and songs we don't normally play on the show. It's fun to loosen things up and have a little fun once in a while.
4 straight hours of nothing but my favourite music released in 2020. The year may have been a disaster in many areas, but it was an exceptional year for music, so much so that I couldn't even fit it all into 4 hours. There's much more great stuff to be heard, but this represents a pretty good overview of many of my favourite releases from the year.
4-hour holiday marathon! Some of the best cover versions from 2020, a bunch of great classics, and a punk & indie dance party to close it off!
I figure even once a year a grumpy curmudgeon like me can give in and do a show full of Christmas music. Don't worry, there's plenty of offbeat and off-colour songs mixed in, but also some of the all-time greatest Christmas songs.
We'll be back to secular songs of misery and woe next week with a 4-hour special, 1-5 pm!
2020 has been an unmitigated disaster in almost every regard except for new music, which has been outstanding. Today we're going to look at some of our favourites in hopes that you might add some music to your online shopping list or your own wish list, especially with the final Bandcamp Friday of the year coming up this week. These aren't necessarily all of the best songs & albums of the year, just some of our standout favourites.
Another week, another of the all-time greatest songwriters gone. Last week we paid tribute to Jerry Jeff Walker, and this week we say a fond farewell to Billy Joe Shaver, one of the most revered and covered songwriters of them all. Billy Joe lived through just about every danger and tragedy there is, so I was starting to think that he was immortal, but 2020 has a nasty way of proving everyone's mortality. Billy Joe leaves behind a catalogue full of incredible songs that will be sung forever, and the first hour of the show is full of only some of the best. In hour two, we've got some more new music, requests, and other stuff. Keep your loved ones and songwriting icons in your thoughts and prayers folks. Let's keep each other safe so I don't have to do any more tributes this year.
